The four-star Danubius Thermal & Conference Hotel Helia spa, wellness and conference hotel, built in Scandinavian style, was opened in 1990 and partially renovated in 2003. Natural thermal water is pumped to the hotel spa from springs on the nearby Margaret Island, which is famous in Budapest for its high quality medical and relaxation services. The hotel is especially suited for conferences and is also well equipped for business travellers.

The spa and conference hotel is situated on the embankment of the River Danube with views on the Buda Hills and Margaret Island (Margitsziget). The Hotel  is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by a park. Most rooms overlook a lovely, refreshing park and the river. The hotel is within easy reach from the city centre with good access to public transport.

All rooms have a bath, individually controlled air-conditioning, colour satellite TV, direct dial telephone, minibar, view on the River Danube, Margaret Island, the Buda Hills or Kárpát Street, some rooms have balconies. 2 non-smoking floors, connecting rooms and rooms for the available are provided as well. ISDN connection is provided in the suites.

The thermal water is brought to the surface on the Margaret Island at a temperature of 70°C but it is then cooled to 32-34°C and 36-38°C but retaining it's unique, curative ingredients.  It is then pumped across the river to the hotel spa to be used for many treatments.

The Thermal Water on the Margaret Island is famous for it's healing effects on conditions such as joint and muscle problems, certain degenerative nerve conditions, some circulation disorders, and many other complaints. Relaxing in the thermal water is also a perfect way to unwind and release the stresses and tensions of modern life.

As soon as you enter our conference area, you will see that Helia is a hotel that means business but not at the expense of comfort or service. The banquet and conference rooms are located on Floor C and have the advantage of natural daylight as well as specially designed lighting and air-conditioning, whilst some share pleasant river views. Each and every meeting room is soundproof, computerised, having a full complement of the latest audio-visual equipment. High-speed, broadband, wireless Internet access (WiFi) is available in the function rooms, the lobby, the Business Centre and the common areas. On request: simultaneous translation, video camera, video projector.
